Day 1 – Arrival, Jungle Walk & Night Caiman Spotting

 9:30 AM – Departure from our office

Departure from our office to the main port. We will take a boat and sail for approximately 40 minutes along the Madre de Dios River until we reach our tourist accommodation.

Upon arrival, you will receive a delicious fruit drink from the region. Meanwhile, we will provide all the necessary information about the accommodation and highlight the activities planned during your tour.

1:00 PM – Lunch

Enjoy a typical Amazonian lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients.

After lunch – Jungle walk

After listening to the indications and recommendations, you will have time to settle into your rooms. Once you are ready, we will take a walk through a section of the jungle to see and learn about ancient trees along the way.

During this walk, we have chances to spot:

• Monkeys (howler, capuchin or squirrel monkeys)

• Birds (toucans, parrots, oropendolas)

• Insects (leafcutter ants, butterflies, spiders)

All in their natural habitat.

7:30 PM – Night walk along the river – Caiman spotting

We will get ready for an exciting night walk along the river in search of caimans. At night, their eyes sparkle when illuminated with a spotlight. This is the perfect time because they go out to look for food or hunt other nocturnal animals such as:

• Capybaras (the world’s largest rodent)

• Majas or Picuro (lowland paca)

• Armadillos

After the activities – Romantic dinner for couples

To end the day, enjoy a special romantic dinner designed for couples, surrounded by the sounds of the Amazon jungle.

Day 2 – Macaw Clay Lick, Kayaking & Jungle Campfire

2:30 AM – Early wake‑up & private tour

We will wake up before dawn at our accommodation to take a private tour. We sail by boat for 45 minutes to reach the city of Puerto Maldonado, where our vehicle will be waiting. Then we drive for 1 hour and 30 minutes along the Interoceanic Highway, crossing sections of the jungle in the same vehicle.

4:45 AM – Puerto Filadelfia & Tambopata River

We arrive at Puerto Filadelfia, where we can appreciate the Tambopata River. From there, we sail for approximately 40 minutes until we reach our destination – the Macaw Clay Lick.

On the way, there are good chances to spot wildlife such as capybara, tapir, deer, and perhaps even the elusive jaguar.

Early morning – Macaw Clay Lick experience

When we arrive at our destination, we will wait patiently for these beautiful colorful birds. Our local guides will provide detailed information about the site. We take advantage of the moment to enjoy breakfast while observing the macaws as they congregate on the clay wall. In addition to macaws, parrots and parakeets also come to this place to acquire minerals from the clay.

11:30 AM – Return to the lodge

We begin our return journey along the same route, sailing and driving back to our accommodation.

1:00 PM – Lunch at the lodge

Enjoy a delicious Amazonian lunch at the lodge.

3:00 PM – Kayaking on the Madre de Dios River

After a well‑deserved rest, we will enjoy a kayaking activity on the Madre de Dios River. This is a perfect opportunity to connect with nature and spot:

• Butterflies

• River turtles

• Birds along the riverbanks

8:00 PM – Dinner

A hearty dinner awaits you at the lodge.

Optional activity – Campfire & jungle stories

After dinner, we invite you to join a campfire experience. Share stories of the jungle, learn about local traditions, and discover how to make fire in the dark – a completely different and memorable adventure.

Day 3 – Lake Sandoval, Zip‑line & Night Walk

4:30 AM – Breakfast

Early breakfast at the lodge to prepare for a full day of adventure.

5:00 AM – Visit to Lake Sandoval

We will visit Lake Sandoval, located inside the Tambopata National Reserve. This beautiful body of water is a 3‑kilometer mirror of extraordinary biodiversity, rich in flora and fauna.

3‑kilometer hike

To reach the lake, we take a 3‑kilometer hike through primary forest. Along the way, your guide will point out giant trees and wildlife.

Lake surroundings & wildlife

The lake is surrounded by Mauritia palm trees (aguaje), orchids, and valuable timber trees such as lupunas and shihuahuacos, which serve as habitat for many animals.

Here we can observe wildlife in their natural habitat, including:

• Howler monkeys (also called «monkey preserve» locally)

• Turtles

• Black caimans

• Giant otters – adults can measure up to 2 meters; they are an endangered species

• Resident birds: herons, puma herons, kingfishers, toucans, and the Hoatzin (also known as shansho), a prehistoric‑looking bird

Your local guide will provide detailed information about the different ecosystems that exist in this beautiful lake.

12:30 PM – Lunch at our accommodation

Return to the lodge for a well‑earned lunch.

3:00 PM – Zip‑line & canopy (full adrenaline)

After lunch, we move on to an activity full of adrenaline: zip‑line and canopy. Fly above the treetops and experience the jungle from a completely different perspective – perfect for adventure lovers and photographers.

Night walk – The symphony of the jungle

After the zip‑line, we will get ready for a night walk through the forest. Walking at night is very different from walking during the day.

What you may see:

• Crickets and grasshoppers

• Fireflies lighting up the dark

• Frogs and toads

• Tarantulas

• Snakes (harmless species, guided by experts)

• Tree lizard – the famous «Plica plica», a true master of camouflage

The most important experience:

Feel the symphony of the jungle – the chorus of insects, amphibians, and nocturnal creatures that makes the Amazon unforgettable.

Day 4 – Tapir Trail, Aguajal Palm Forest & Sport Fishing

8:00 AM – Breakfast

Enjoy a good breakfast at the lodge before starting the day’s adventures.

Tapir Trail & Aguajal Palm Forest

After breakfast, we will hike the Tapir Trail. At the end of this trail, we find an area of aguaje palm trees – a humid zone where tapirs love to eat those wild fruits. Here you can also find footprints of other animals.

• Terrain: Humid, possible muddy sections

Wildlife you may see

• Wild pigs (peccaries)

• Rodents (agouti, paca)

• Toucans

• Oriole birds

Important fact – Flooded season (November to April)

From November to April, this area becomes flooded with water and becomes the habitat of Anacondas (Eunectes murinus). It is super interesting to see how the type of jungle changes according to the season. Locally, this ecosystem is called «los aguajales» (swampy palm forest). Do not worry – you will always be accompanied by a local expert guide who knows how to navigate this area safely.

Return to the lodge for a delicious Amazonian lunch.

3:30 PM – Sport Fishing on the river

In the afternoon, we go sport fishing on the river. This activity is very interesting because while navigating, you can also appreciate:

• Parrots and toucans along the riverbanks

4:00 PM – Return to the city

After fishing, we begin our return journey to Puerto Maldonado, where the tour ends. We can transfer you to the airport or bus terminal as needed.
